Free Fallin
I am sorry to break many hearts, but, no this is not a blog about
Tom Petty's hit song 'Free Fallin'
its about a conversation i had tonight with my mother over
our spectacular grilled steak, grilled vegetables, and corn on
the cob dinner.
To summarize the discussion..
It all started when we got onto the tangent of finding yourself, and who you
really are, what you really like, what you really want to do in
your life time.
She told me growing up with eight siblings, having a serious high
school sweet heart, and developing a friendship with a very
influential friend it was hard for her to do these things. She was too caught up in
family, friends, and boyfriends to make her own decisions, do things
for herself and discover the woman she was meant to be. She was so influenced by
others that she admitted, that had her best friend not decided to be
a nurse, than she too would probably not have gone into medical field and become
a nurse as well.
My Mother told me it was not until she began to break off ties, and became independent, that
she began to discover who she really was. She told me tonight that I must free fall. I need
to break away and fall on my own for the time being in order to discover the woman I am, the woman God has intended me to be. She warned me that like free falling, it WILL be scary at times, but its a rush and invigorating as well.
So tonight going into my second year of college in less than 48 hours, i make the jump. Frightening this fall will be, but simultaneously adventurous and worth it in the end. Wish me luck :]

Patience
"How long before I get in
Before it starts before I begin
How long before you decide
Before I know what it feels like
Where to, where do I go?
If you never try then you'll never know
How long do I have to climb
Up on the side of this mountain of mine"
The first verse of this song seems to accurately describe
my emotions/ thoughts i have running through
my head tonight.
How long? Where? When? Who?
Patience is a virtue.
Patience is something i need to practice.
I have a hard time being patient when it comes to the future.
When your curious, excited, yet fearful all at the same time,
its hard to wait for the outcome. I suppose the 'waiting' / the ride would be
obsolete if one already knew what was to come.
I don't know what the future
has in store for me, i suppose i have my whole life to practice
this patience thing.
